pull your egr off and see if it is stuck open......if it is it will cause a miss at idle and it will cause it to heat up

Thanx Doug i'll check it out i'm going to where the truck is tomorrow, it started idling pretty high after going through some water last saturday seems to be staying like that? i'll run another check on it, i'm sure more codes are going to show up after going in the water.

Its obvious Lowrad ... they were Toyotas bought by Jeep owners who saw the odometer hit 200 000 km & thought they were done because all there Jeeps died by then ... not knowing that there was 800 000 km left.

If it is the same ign control modual on the side of the distributor i'm not sure what years were the same but just looking at it, its located just underside the distributor and has got a clip in plug with about 6-7wires in it, two very small hex screws hold it on but hard to see and also the egr located to the left of engine with small white position sensor on top with three wire plug in, may have to cut the tubing to get it out as it would be rusted, anything you can get i'll take Steve the prices seem reasonable, if possible that tube linking the two heads at the rear of the engine if in good shape its two bolts pain in the but to get at but my truck was to high to acsess them without climbing in for the right & under for the left bolt, let me know what you find & if its there when i go for x-mas i'll pick at it, the dist is one bolt 1/2" & should come out..
