We are all glad that you have a trail rig ... & don't rush getting it on the trails too fast ... get it prepared otherwise problems in the bush.
By the way I've often been asked, 'What do You do now that you're retired?' I say: 'Well, I do work on my truck a bit, & though I was a teacher I didn't have much of a chemistry background, but one of the things I enjoy the most is turning beer into urine!' I need that under my hood too.

Yeah I seen some of the pics and some of the Vid I just don't get how that axle broke....I mean I've seen Froggy Jeep giver hell more than that with the huge ass boots on it and not brake....I've givin'r more than that.....I mean we all have.....I think it musta been just one of those things I've heard the same thing about runnin bigger than 35's on stock toy axles and the Birfs won't take it...but to this date the only one that I know that broke a Birf has been IronPig and now LngZook last week(and he admits it was his fault...had the tire pinched or something between couple rocks...cranked to one side...and gaver the onion)
Just goes to show that THAT is probably where other wheelers get there statistics.....I think it all comes from experience of WHEN to let off....you can giver the onion but once I start to get momentem or whatever I let off......maybe we've all just been lucky....lol

I run Chrome-Moly birfields & front axles, rear are huge so no problem. With birfields you have to be careful cranking in reverse & "give'n-er". Most of the time you gave'r Lowrad, you were open diff'd ... so the issue is not the same ... but with Dana 35's ( & you have 44's) you have to be careful it seems. For guys like CrazyFrenchman with meaty 35's & now rear locked & a heavy pedal ... has to be careful.
Josh's broke when the driver's rear wheel hit the rock .... allowing the passenger's rear wheel to spin freely ... the momentum snapped the axle on the driver's side.
I have yet to see any Toyota rear axle break ... some had 350's wailing away ... eg ... Brian McColl & some at Phil Factor. Other 4Runner's using 22RE's at Camp NL, locked & 35's on rocks ... np.

Well, now that this thread is completely off topic I’ll add my .02 cents
I’m no expert but I’ve found at depends on how the u-joint is loaded if you got the wheel cranked to full lock and you step on it you're asking to break a u-joint the only front one I’ve broken is at the Frankford show on the rock garden I had the wheel full lock to the right and I was trying to get traction in a rock and eventually I made the dumb move and put the foot to the floor snap! But I’ve beaten on the front just as hard many times since then and not broke a front u-joint but I’ve never done it if my tires are past half turned
Oh and just to get my kicks in K-5's are the best
And bushy as for the water, sand, and mud as a lubricant test I’ve got proof that a 35 year old Chevy 350 can last for about 5 hours than it goes bang and you have a long night ahead of you and an expensive week afterwards
