I carry chains, J Hook chains, a tree saver and two Snatch blocks along with many D Shackles and straps when I go out and let me tell you there is nothing better then knowing you have the equipment with you. I know good Snatch blocks are not cheap, but as long as a couple people have them then the group is good. I try and invest a little money each year in new recovery equipment and I realy only have one serious rule. If you do not have your own recovery equipment, do not expect me to break my shit getting you out. I have broken more than a few straps on other trucks with not even so much as the guy getting his own for the next time out and those guys quickly get told no the next time. That or they get a visit from the Stupidity Chain and those recoveries are not usually pretty.

Holy fawk that's a SUPER deal...something sounds kinda off about that though.....are you sure it's a SuperWinch or another kind...cause my 9000lbs SuperWinch is worth 1000....maybe the winches are re-furbs or something..either way if it is...good deal

When I bought my12000lb Titan, Duncan was telling me that Superwinch reps went to China to checkout the winches ... thinking of selling it here as a Superwinch. Maybe this is the case with the Cdn Tire model. You won't find a Superwinch like Lowrad's or Iron Pig's for that price.

Lostzuk ... I agree that everyone should be prepared to extract THEMSEVLES. Sometimes situations require someone else to do the winching or the use of their equipment ... BUT why should others invest all the time, effort & money when others ( usually the ones who need it ) don't.
I understand $$$ is usually the reason, but recovery gear ( winches, straps, tow points, etc ) are one ot the main aspects of an offroad truck. This equipment is as important as having the tires, the gearing. lockers, axles, the "bling" stuff.
There are members here who are happy & willing to assist whenever someone needs it BUT when you continually are relied upon to haul those that aren't equipped, it leaves a sour taste in one's mouth. Burning out a winch, ripping off a trailer hitch, torn, "lost" straps all cost the good samaratan $$$, time, effort.
Observation ... these are usually the same guys who don't bring beer but like yours.

Not a bad deal at all, but check the turn around time on the REPAIR warranty as you could be without your winch for months from the quick service I have seen in the past with CTC shipping parts out for warranty.

This is a little off topic but i, will be prolly getting one of those wnches, sounds like a good deal anyways, i took a week off to get my ford safetied, i need a wind shield if it,s cracked right? and patch the holes in the floor, & prolly a bit of front end work, anything else i should prepair to fix to kind of be ready, i was hopping it would take a week to do does any one know if thats realistic or am i kidding myself, i am fairly handy as i've been doing maintenance for over 5 years now i'm just wondering if some of the parts will be hard to get, expl windshield??? anyone! oh it has a lift, is that going to have to come out? i think it was done with lift spacers, but the front sags, dont know if it was left & the springs are short.

The Latest 4WD magazine (Volume 10, Issue 2, pg 54) shows the new entry-level Superwinch LP8500 (lbs). Sure looks like a Titan as I said before. The solenoid box on top is the same, as is everything else except it is shown with a hause fairlead. If the price is $399.99 ... good deal. They have a nice solid freewheeling disengagement handle.

Ya that is the same one ... & as I say Superwinch Execs. went to China to work a deal with Titan( as told to me by Duncan who is the Titan distributor). Buy one & check & see where it is made & let us know..
