I've a question bout painting one's rig....
Mine is going from tan to.... well, more less, a bright chevy orange. ( i think it's chevy orange, look at fierodude's diff colour... it's that colour)
I've no idea how to paint an autotmobile! I paint walls, and other things, but i've never painted a vehicle before. So, if anyone knows any smart ideas.... or if anyone's really really good at it, talk to me! I'd be HAPPY to hear from you.

colour change is a pain in the ass if your pickey because the door jams and engine bay should be done, if your not that pickey then do all the body work get out all deep scratches with a fine grit paper prime it ( optional if you dont care all that much) go to the paint supply place of your choice pick up the mixing jug and stir stick and mix your paint/reducer/hardener according to the measurment on the stick. throw it in the paint gun and have a spare piece of sheet metal around to test on before you shoot the car so you can get your air/paint mix right we use our beer fridge lol
75 percent of painting is the prep work have it smooth and clean of everything (dust, bugs and any oil which includes touching it with you fingers) wet the floor as well so dust dosn't blow up into the paint.. me and my old man have painted quite a few cars but by no means are we pro's. but if your not pickey im sure you can work a deal with him to paint it. If you want excellent work at good prices i have a buddy that does insanely cool work but his shop is in kingston, so you would have to take it there.
any other questions just ask

<lmao> I'm glad you could be helpful... I doubt i'm really up for something perfect- hell, i want to paint it orange. (of all things.) Besides- it'll eventually just get bashed around in the bush anyways, so i really just want all of it the same colour-- when my new doors go on, It'll have orange front fenders, orange doors and the rest will all be a light beige... it's not gonna match. And it's not like, actual orange-- the parts used to be red. and are now faded and ugly <lol> So my main concern is painting it so it doesn't look like a piece of patchwork.
But thanks again for the advice, if you've any more feel free to give it. I appreciate your input!!
