If it's an 89, they switched mid year from the BA's (peugot) to the AX's! If you have the BA, check the wreckers, only place you'll find them! I ave one, but the way I usually beat my jeep, I'm gonna need it! But Kinneys has a couple out there last I was out! If you have an AX, can't help there!

It is a Jeep thing, they break so they do not have to be embarrassed by smaller more capable Samurais LOL!

I have an automatic for an I6 in an XJ that I just pickec up for parts....it'll bolt right up but by the sounds of things yours was a manual so that'd take a lil bit of riggin, not much, though...just some floor cuttin and changing the pressure plate. I actually got this truck for $500 cuz the guy thought the tranny was pooched but it just has a leaky line because we gave it a very temporary patch and while it wa on there it worked great. Anyway, $200 if you want it and that's only cuz i'll have to climb under it where it sits and try to drop it. I think the tranny cooler is still there too so you can have that with it, you'll just need to buy some 3/8 " steel line and a couple of compression fittings to fix up that line......let me know if you are interested.

If it's from an XJ, it'll be an AX and if his tranny was a BA, it won't go. You'll need to change out the pilot bearing to do so.
Trust me, I just went through it last year, and wasted most of the end of the year trying to figure out what to do. So I started ripping another jeep part! LOL

Kinneys is south of 7 on 41 in Kaladar, when you head south and go up the big hill, you'll see his sign on the left. Turn left there, and follow until you see it on the right
I do have another, but I don't know if it's any good. Don't know if the tranny is pooched, the t-case or the hydrolic clutch. The output shaft turns, but once the t-case is bolted, it's output shaft doesn't turn! Stays in neutral! Thinkin it's the t-case that is, that'll piss me off! I actually paid for it! LOL
Let me try to figure out if it works or not. Then we'll talk!
