87 toy troubles

this post is for toydude. we put a motor in his 87 toyota pick up got it running good everything working...then we went for a drive and hear some really efffed sounds didnt think to to much of it...got back to my place and there was ALOT of smoking coming for the rear dif. so we took off the tires and the drivers side wheel bearing is gone...but we dont know what would be better if we were rebuild or replace the dif. i had him put it in gear and i listen to the dif it sounds like it all efffed up inside so just wondering what some people off here think we should do....

WELL the best bet I would think would be to take the diff apart(toy front end loader I assume) and see WTF is goin on...take the axles out and see if there anygood...and then take the pod apart...might just be a spider gear...might be the ring and pinion got chewed up
The only way you'll know if taken it apart..then I'd go from there
