Well you'll need new shocks...or fab up some kinda spacers...but chances are your shocks probably need replacing too You'll also need to make up a trac bar extention(ie that bar that goes from your frame to your axle...you'll need to make up a piece of metal bracket to relocate the mounting position on the axle...not a biggy...a piece of metal with some holes...you'll see...it's obvious) You might need a drop pitman are depending on how bad your bump steer is after you get the lift in You won't need to "lift" persay....but you will have to jack up the rig and support it by the frame so the shackles will bottom out....it's really not that hard...just can be a pain to get the bolts outa the eyes of your old leafs...chances are...you'll be cutting them..and that ain't that big a deal since your using other leafs anyways...just buy some new bolts....but I'm not sure what grade the factory ones are..there probably just grade five so there pretty easy to get anywhere
Hope this helps

As he said. I know from changing my leafs, they aren't that bad at all.
Tools needed:
1 ton jack (at least) Impacts or socket set with Johnson bar Grinder with cutting disc Maybe a second person Hammer (Bigger one to pound old bolts through old leafs)
Parts needed: Possibly new bolts, recommended anyways, Bushings? Do the new leafs come with them? Are they already in there? New? Used? Any good? Keep in mind, U-bolts may break, may need some new ones! I had to! 4" lift does not usually require drop pitman arm in YJ's, it is recommended though. Think they were around $78 at Trenton Chrysler, cheaper than Belleville. They mat still have the one I returned, since they are not an item ordered very often. It's a 4" pitman arm for an XJ that you want. They never made one called a drop pitman for a YJ. They look at you kinda wierd when you ask for it. I'll see if I still have the part order number on Jeepkings. Trac Bars? WTF would I know? I don't have any! LOL Once I put in the lift springs, SOA, they took care of my axle wrap.
You have a garage? I took a few hours laying in gravel and digging through it to find the tools for mine! LOL And it rained and Hailed that day too!

Drop pitman is a ZJ..not XJ ;)and it's just that the ZJ arm is 4"s longer than a stock YJ or XJ for some reason...god only knows why...it just happens to work out..lol

u-bolts are $50 an axle at canifton garage they can make them to any size. i know crappy tire is more expensive, but your best bet is to get a phone book and call all the parts stores

I got mine at Crappt Tire, weren't the actual YJ U-bolts, but they worked. Cost me around $40, maybe less.
