hey i got a 89 yj and im havinng a probelm with my power steering..i can turn my steering wheel about half way before the wheels turn...now my one power steering line is leaking..has been from the day i got the jeep..but this week my steering has become very bad im not sure if it would be the power steering box or what but it really weird and it bugging me...any ideas anyone

Tie rods! Big reason for that, and they can go quickly! Mine did. I could move my drag link about a 1/4" each way, which is like 3-4" at the wheels. Had a lot of bump steer! Steering box. There are a few other things that it could be, but check your tie rods. $33-43 for uppers or lowers at CT last I checked. I ended up payning $80 from thw dealer.

i cant move my linkage...well i havent had it off the ground and tryed yet but i can move it at all...and there some effed up sounds coming for the cloum and the box it self..but ill check my tie rods again and make sure

Ah! If there are sounds coming from the colomn and steering box, you need a new box. Or a rebuild. Have you noticed if it leaks? Could also be the knuckle going in the idler arm to the box.

well i found the effing problem just now...not really the way i wanted to..but the frame broke around the power steering box and off it came...so who no a way to fix it? the shop class at the high school said they can try but they not sure if they can get it done
