Well I had a fun weekend a buddy of mine found a truck he wants to get but it needs a lot of work. We got to talking and he wants my rear axle and front outers I told him he could have them but I need to get ¾ ton hubs for the front and finish my 14 bolt for the rear and he said he’d give me some cash to put towards doing it and today I sold a set of tires so I have a little bit of money so what I’m looking for is gears for the front Dana 44 I’m looking for either 3:73, 4:10 or 4:56 and if there the 4 series I’d need a carrier as well ‘cause I think there was a carrier break there but I’m not sure someone can step in if I’m wrong there. I’d really prefer the 3:73 ‘cause I have no overdrive but I’m open for anything right now let me know what ya got. thanks

what is your stock gearing...I do beleive that the breakover point is 3:73.....go bigger you'll need another carrier As for me and the WAggy...looking to go 4:88...maybe only 4:56...but thinking the other

its got 3:07 stock i wana keep the diff gears as tall as i can 'cause i plan on using this truck for road trips and i want to put an underdrive box in lator to make up for the tall gears and when you have as much torque as this truck does you don't need realy low gearing plus as crazy as it seems i like the way it drives it idles through town in 4th at 60 kph

FJ40 was stock 3.73 but I run with 4:56 & 35's. Good all round gearing. Highway is OK... revs a little high ,,, offroad in lo is good too, Really need a 3 sp transfercase for rocks !
Weedwacker is 4:10 running 31's ... works fine in all areas.

I have a set of Rubi 4.10's, they are the thick ring gear so you don't need to change your carrier. Looking for $100.

Hey, they are in good shape, I bought both sets from a guy I only needed one set though. The only diff between Rubi thick gears and reg thick gears is the bolts to hold the ring gear to carrier are larger, (Bots included) so you need to slightly drill out your carrier ring gear bolt holes to allow the larger bolts to thread in to the gears. I am in Belleville tomorrow (27th) I can bring them in if you would like. Let me know. The guy I bought them from said that they only had 40,000km on them when he swapped them out for 4:56's. Jay
