springs are sagging in the old beast (1995 yj) front and rear i was going to get a lift kit but i can't afford that right now so i checked the junkyards in the area with now luck and to find a new set of springs i would have to go to the stealer-ship and that extra $$ could go towards the lift kit so i was thinking of getting them re arced for the time being but got a few questions 1. Has anyone done this or know of anyone who did it and how they held out.. 2. If i get them reached they say they could go up 2 " for original arch (hmmmm half the lift i want) is that true 3. last but not long term add a leaf any help would be helpful

I thought about having that done on my ford but didn,t follow through, & dont know the price comparison but i was skeptical cause they would not hold out as long after rearch, as they are already weakend, so for the extra $ to be safe i'd go for after market prolly save u in the long run, the bastard packing is prolly the cheapest if looking at short term and a little stiffer ride can be tolerated, just my 2 cents. Re-arch is good, but doesn't last that long! Especially if you flex then and bend em alot! They sag again real quick! I haven't heard that re-arch can take it up 2", I heard the most it can do is 1", but if it's gonna sag again real quick, not worth it!
Bastard packing is alright too! But like burntjeep said, it is a stiffer ride!
If you go into Sidney auto wreckers in Trenton, There is a 4 banger YJ in the back right corner. It's still spring under, so arch is good! Get them, and take a leaf out of your leaf packs to bastard pack it if you want! If you get new perches as well, you can go SOA, that'll give you 5 1/4"-5 1/2" of lift right there. Not much left to it, but the axles were still there too, means 4:10's!
