Hey guys I'm in the middle of dealing for a 2009 sahara but I hate the stock tires I wanna get the dealer to change them but I need to know if I can fit a set of 285/65/18 on there instead without them rubbin or scrubbin so I can get them in the deal with the new jeep. the 285/65/18 are only .5" larger (32.6") as to the 255/70/18 (32.1") but me being a newbi jeep (soon to be) owner I wanna get these in the deal.

I would think they would be fine It's only .5" bigger in the total circumference which means .25 on either side and top and bottom......from what I've always been told you CAN go 1" bigger on stock wheels and tires than your stock setup(aka if your rig is stock with 29's you can put 30's without issue)....maybe the only thing that might be issue is the width(but I wouldn't think it would be an issue...just thinkin of possiblity's)....bottom line is if the dealer will put those tires on...you'll be safe...the dealer is not going to put on a set of tires that won't fit on the vehicle ;)my 2cents

Not 100% sure why but my brother tried to do somethin similar to his commander and having sensors for just about everything it would set off bells & whistles everywhere, don,t know if the set ups are somewhat similar the dealer would not put anything but the rated tire for that setup, now recalibration may be a option too, just my two cents.
