Well Hello everyone. I can't say that I have any 4 X 4 experience other than 10 -12yrs ago I did some mild back-road and fireroad fooling around out in Nova Scotia. I had a crappy old Nissan King Cab, which I beat into the ground, then replaced with a Cherokee. Sadly I haven't had a 4X4 Rig since 1999 and I never got into proper off-roading or even met anyone who did.
Ive been trying to save up for TJ for about a year now (ever since I almost got ran over when I dropped my bike about 2 years ago), but as soon as I had close to enough money, I got engaged and bought a house. So instead of waiting another year or more, I just traded in my DD for a new JK.
I know, I know this isn't exactly something that I can thrash about without care, (well till its paid for anyway) but I do what to get out and start using it while I'm saving up for new bumpers, a winch, and maybe a 3" lift and a set of 35s.
Anyway, If you guys ever do any stock friendly runs, let me know.

Looks nice & sure can be upgraded to a great rig for road & trail.
We have some runs you would enjoy ... Lingham Hydro line ( chose what you want to climb), Lingham Lake ( looks tough but isn't), Whitefish ( mostly forest access road/hydro line but nice camping).
You need to meet the "boys" ( I say that because we have a number of women too that wheel just fine ).
Keep reading here & the Badthumper.com site as we will be planning for next year soon.
I am "Bushy" ... see you on the trails.

Hey Hey...makin the rounds eh..lol Welcome to the madness here Guess that answers my question on Northumberland...it's a Rubi..lol So you running 35's won't be a problem....and you can get away with just a mild lift....but don't no if it's nessesary yet for you....if memory serves your running with 32's and lockers front and rear already outa the box...I would think you'd be fine with that for now...maybe first investment if it were me would be a winch....look into the Titan's (link on the bottom)..Tell Duncan(the guy that owns it) that your a County boy and he'll treat ya right (little deal we worked out)...I don't own one of those winches myself (Bushy and BrownBro's aswell as the Crazy Frenchman) have them on there rigs...there's were the originals and from what i've read those winches have come quite aways...he also sells recovery equipement...but I think you can get that from Princes Auto just as cheap and closer(Kingston)
You shouldn't have to worry about to much damage...I mean non of us WANTS to break/trash there rigs either....there's only a couple places localy that might put a little hurtin on your rig....BUT we are always lookin for more ;D
Once again welcome to the madness

Thanks for the info "Bushy', Ive been surfing the local forums and have read about these runs. Are any tame enough and easy enough to find/follow, for me to go for a drive on the weekend to check out? Maybe there are some unmaintained roads around here (I only know the one that I found that follows the canal in Carrying Place) that's just a dirt road with a few mud puddles. Hi Lowrad, thanks for the "Gouge" on the winch. Yes it is the first real thing that I'm lookin at, and a way to mount it, so thats where the front bumper comes in. Yeah The Rubi comes with 32s and lockers front and rear. This house is the first time Ive ever had a garage so other than turning a wrench on my past bikes, Im not much of a gear head. I figured I'd go for a modded TJ, or Aa Rubi so that I could work my way into the wrenching as I got the time. BTW, how do I become a member? I registered for all the local forums last Jan when I started seriously lookin at getting into 4X4ing. It seems that on more than just this forum, I need a password to find out about local trails. Do I have to email a moderator? I can't remember which forum it is off the top of my head, but one of them has a membership fee ($15 if I remember right) anyway, I'm cool with that. Also, anyone willing to help out hanging a bumper or winch if I decide on which to get? Thanks, Rob Also, should I avoid cross posting if everyone reads all forums anyway, or should I post to them all?

Thanks "guys"
Ive called JustJeeps in TO and Stu sounds alright. a bit of a drive though just to chat since (as far as bumpers go) they don't have any in stock.
Im still lookin at the Shrockworks Stubby, Stu say he has had problems with Shrockworks, but he only referred to delivery time, So, I;m thinking that I should just order one and wait.
I can't find anything else on the market similar.
Anyway, see you on the trail

I just added a Jeep page to my website, I can't say that I update these things very often, but it gives me a place to host pictures etc. Let me know what you think of it. I hope to post up picture of all the mods I do to the JK over time. Enjoy www.roborme.com
